Chicago is sending aid to Maui to assist those impacted by the wildfires, with a United Airlines flight from O’Hare International Airport carrying 24,000 pounds of essential supplies including baby formula and toiletries. United Airlines has been actively engaged in transporting people affected by the tragedy, having assisted over 12,000 individuals returning to the US mainland. Julie Yurko, President and CEO of the Northern Illinois Food Bank, emphasized the importance of providing nourishment and hope to those who have lost everything in the disaster.
