Case Study

Since its establishment in 2008, SAGEMCOM has emerged as a leader in the communication technology and consumer electronics sector. The company offers a wide range of solutions, spanning from residential and professional communication equipment to energy management solutions, security solutions, and connected devices.

THE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Development of the IT tool in direct collaboration with the client's teams and in adherence to the specifications.

  • Guidance and training of dedicated teams in each concerned country.

  • Provision of adaptable storage space to cater to client needs (seasonality, product range renewal, etc.).

  • Tailored solutions for international transport and local distribution.

CHALLENGE

Given the escalating demand for consumer electronics products, ensuring product availability through a dependable and efficient supply chain is imperative for a company like SAGEMCOM. Our group has been selected to establish B2B logistics in both France and the United States. A platform in France and three platforms in the U.S., located in New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, collectively cover the relevant territories. The American market for SAGEMCOM has experienced substantial growth in recent years and is projected to achieve a revenue close to a billion dollars in 2023.

SOLUTION

Building upon our longstanding collaboration, the client has involved us in a bidding process aimed at revitalizing their entire logistical setup in both France and the United States. To enhance this synergy, the SEKO BANSARD agency in Ris-Orangis has taken charge of warehousing and storing spare parts and finished products from Asia. Furthermore, it has successfully executed the delivery of finished products from France to various destinations worldwide. A true partnership has formed to ensure an efficient and reliable end-to-end logistical management.

The use of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) and a tailored configuration, developed in close collaboration with the client, has complemented and secured the essential flow traceability required by the client.

RESULT

Since January 2022, the dedicated logistics structure in France has gradually expanded, currently reaching an average stock volume of 2500 pallets and 300 square meters specifically allocated for components that encompass thousands of references in stock.

For the American part of the project, the forthcoming objectives include implementing the same WMS as in France, with a deadline set for the end of 2023.

These changes will provide the client with a global view of their stocks at SEKO through a unified dashboard.

Opportunity to add logistics to the existing transportation aspect since 2009 has been both a challenge and a significant opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the client. It's an ever-renewed challenge to aid SAGEMCOM in optimizing its B2B distribution logistics worldwide.

We hope to be given priority consideration for upcoming projects (B2C distribution and others) due to the dedication of our teams and the success of this initial logistics project.
