SEKO Logistics has opened its first UK Aerospace and Aviation ‘Centre of Excellence’ at Farnborough Airport to deliver logistics and technology solutions for companies serving global customers in the sector.
Within the SEKO Logistics network of over 120 offices in 40 countries, there are already Aerospace and Aviation centers of excellence in Europe, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Farnborough was chosen as the location for its UK team of specialists because of its standing as the home of UK aerospace.
The SEKO team at Farnborough will help customers remove cost from their supply chains, provide total visibility of inventory and all transport and logistics movements, and identify opportunities for service level improvements. In addition to SEKO’s award-winning logistics services, customers have access to the company’s unique Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions for asset and transport management.
Dean Townsend, Director of SEKO Logistics, said: “This expansion is part of our commitment to customers in the Aerospace and Aviation sector and also reflects the strong growth forecast for the industry over the next 5-7 years. Aerospace and Aviation is one of our largest industry verticals and certainly one of the fastest-growing, and we know our combination of logistics and software services are perfectly attuned to the needs of customers in the sector. Our SaaS solutions are unique to SEKO and give our customers total visibility of their assets in the supply chain. All of the vital supply chain information is accessible online and is fast and easy-to-use, eliminating time-consuming paper processes.”
SEKO’s Transportation Management System (TMS) is a fully customizable application with a status/event driven design that enables customers to shop around for the best pricing, consolidate orders, customize and run reports, and audit freight bills. Contracted carriers are also integrated into the system enabling customers to tender shipments supported by their routing. SEKO’s Warehouse Management System (WMS) allows customers to maintain tight and optimized inventories by automatically identifying and assigning the nearest available part for each shipment. This helps SEKO customers to reduce transportation costs, transit and turn-times, and avoids shipment overlap.
SEKO’s technology offering also includes integrated GPS devices within its MySEKO software that provides real-time 2D, 3D, road, aerial or ‘bird’s eye’ tracking of cargo.
SEKO Logistics’Aerospace and Aviation servicesalso provide full support for customs compliance and export licenses, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), in accordance with the latest international regulations. SEKO’s global Aerospace and Aviation headquarters is in Dallas, the second largest aerospace market in the world.
“We’ve grown by helping our customers to make the most informed choices. We have Aerospace and Aviation customers that just use our software services to help them manage and grow their businesses as well as clients that also want our full logistics solutions on top of the cost and service benefits of working with SEKO as a carrier-neutral service provider. We are helping to transform their supply chains and making their lives easier by eliminating outdated manual process and enabling them to manage by exception,” adds Dean Townsend.
