Itasca, IL - SEKO Denmark is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) for both customs formalities and security.
This certification establishes SEKO Denmark as a reliable and trustworthy partner that fulfills requirements regarding monitoring systems, solvency, and lawful conduct and security standards for the international movement of goods. The AEO certificate is issued by customs authorities and is recognized in all European Union (EU) member states.
“Being AEO certified gives our customers more advantages when importing and exporting products through our global network.” States Jacob Schultz, Managing Director of SEKO Logistics Denmark. “Advantages like priority clearances and less customs inspections. Receiving the highest level of certification is a key achievement to SEKO Denmark and it shows that we are doing our part in securing the international supply chain.”
The AEO standard was created by the European Union in order to enhance traditional customs controls and to reinforce the importance of the role of customs in security for the international logistics chain.
Huge steps have been taken in the EU-US trade relationship in December 2011. EU and USA have agreed to mutually recognize each other’s security certified operators (AEO and C-TPAT). This agreement will make trade easier and less expensive. While EU and USA continue to work together to make the global supply chain more resilient and better protected against attack, it clearly proves the benefits of Trans-Atlantic cooperation.
