SEKO Logistics today announced that it has been honored as a recipient of the American Logistics Aid Network’s (ALAN’s) 2022 Annual Humanitarian Logistics Award. Established in 2017 and presented annually, ALAN’s Humanitarian Logistics Awards recognize companies and individuals who exemplify the best that the supply chain has to offer by assuring that aid is rapidly delivered to communities in crisis. These organizations and individuals “Save Lives Through Logistics.”

Honored along with five other recipients, SEKO merited its award for launching SEKO CARES, an initiative that has provided more than $500,000 worth of PPE and other support for frontline responders during COVID-19, supplied over $150,000 in donated transportation services for medical, food and other goods into Ukraine, and helped raise an additional $200,000 to support organizations providing ongoing relief around Ukraine.

In 2020, SEKO launched the SEKO CARES initiative in response to the COVID-19 pandemic – with the goal of uniting all members of the company’s global communities and inspiring other multi-national corporations to support humanitarian relief efforts. Although it has always supported nonprofits, during COVID, the SEKO team recognized its opportunity as a global logistics company to provide additional assistance to help coordinate the supply chain for critical equipment like PPE.

During its first year of operations, SEKO shipped hundreds of pallets of supplies and equipment to hospitals, clinics and local health departments most in need. In total, SEKO provided more than $500,000 worth of PPE and other support for frontline responders during the pandemic.

Then, when the invasion of Ukraine occurred in 2022, SEKO’s teams around the world stepped up – again. Working with incredible partners, including United Cargo, and two leading providers of humanitarian aid around the world – Airlink and Project C.U.R.E., SEKO shipped hundreds of pallets of medical supplies, food and other goods and raised thousands of dollars to support organizations providing ongoing relief to those in and supporting Ukraine.

“This is just the beginning – the need for humanitarian assistance only continues to expand. Today, we continue to provide much needed support and resources to the people of Ukraine, as well as new locations around the world, including Pakistan,” said James Gagne, president of SEKO Logistics. “As a global logistics provider, it has never been clearer that it is our responsibility to leverage our assets, network, and capabilities to serve as the backbone for so many other organizations and partners on the frontlines.”
