SEKO Selects Milton Keynes as the Launch Location For ‘Hybrid’ Logistics Solutions in the UK
Changes in the way customers want to buy logistics services and growing demand for bundled technology, transportation and global fulfillment solutions are behind Chicago-headquartered SEKO Logistics’ decision to open a new centre in Milton Keynes where all of it services for customers are intrinsically linked.
With over 120 locations in more than 40 countries, SEKO Logistics is recognized for creating a new category of ‘hybrid’ 3PL service providers, offering customers a single source of award-winning software and shipping solutions to reduce cost and enhance business performance.
Milton Keynes has been one of SEKO’s fastest-growing locations since it opened a 250,000 sq ft logistics centre in the town in 2014 to deliver a range of omni-channel services for global order fulfilment, delivery management, returns solutions and ecommerce for leading retail brands such as Beauty Pie, Knomo, East Clothing, Marks and Spencer, and Birchbox. SEKO has also recently won a logistics contract with Joules, the prominent British fashion and lifestyle brand.
Now, SEKO’s fulfillment services in Milton Keynes will be supported by a team of air, ocean and road freight specialists to serve customers in the town and across the UK Midlands region, headed by directors, Paul Balsom and Mark Ronaldson.
Keith O’Brien, SEKO’s Group Managing Director, says Milton Keynes is a prime location for what SEKO has to offer: “Companies are constantly looking for ways to streamline their businesses and that means more are coming to us to buy our unique bundled services. We give them customizable ‘plug and play’ solutions that are quick to implement and enable brands of all sizes to compete and grow. We already have a fast-growing client base in and around Milton Keynes, as we do across the UK, but the pace with which new companies are coming into this region means we want to be here with our full package of services. We want companies to challenge us to save them money and to show how we can help them to make better informed business decisions.”
Paul Balsom added: “Unlike traditional freight forwarders, SEKO identified some years ago that our ‘hybrid’ model of fulfillment linked to transportation is the future. We’ve developed our own technology and logistics capabilities so we can support our customers with visibility of all transportation statuses upstream from the vendor, and downstream to final delivery to customers. For consumers, for example, that means a consistent and seamless brand experience, regardless of the sales channel they use; mobile, web, or retail ‘bricks and mortar’. Customers are choosing SEKO because we can prove we are different and we get results.”
